Disability Support Services

Walla Walla University is committed to educational access and inclusivity for all students. In accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American with Disabilities Act and subsequent updates to that legislation, WWU ensures that all programs and services provided by the college are accessible and offered to all of our students. Our office and our campus partners are committed to promoting and providing inclusive and equitable educational access for WWU students with disabilities through accommodations, supports, and advocacy.

Our Mission

Disability Support Services (DSS) strives to promote and provide inclusive and equitable educational access for WWU students with disabilities through accommodations, supports, and advocacy. 


Requesting Assistance

To receive assistance, you must have diagnostic documentation according to documentation guidelines. This documentation should explain the nature and extent of your disability, and may include professional recommendations for support services.  
 
A student with a disability is a person who qualifies for an accommodation under section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and/or the Americans with Disabilities Act. Disabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Physical Disabilities, such as sensory disabilities (hearing, sight, etc.)
  • Medical Disabilities, such as cystic fibrosis, fibromyalgia, or diabetes 
  • Psychological disabilities, such as depression, bipolar or obsessive-compulsive disorder 
  • Learning disabilities, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder 

Accommodate for Students

The Accommodate portal allows students 24/7 access to all of their disability-related information, including approved accommodations, pending requests, accommodation letters, appointments with DSS, scheduled exam proctoring, uploaded documentation, and more.

Students new to DSS can submit requests for accommodation any time. If you have difficulty accessing or navigating Accommodate, reach out to our office and one of our workers will assist you. Students new to WWU DSS can use the link below to request accommodations. This includes incoming freshman, transfer students, and students who have not had accommodations in the past. 

Students who have received accommodations in the past will be able to log onto the Accommodate portal below to view existing accommodations, renew documentation, or submit supplemental requests. 

Accommodate for Faculty & Staff

The Faculty portal will allow WWU instructors to access accommodation information for students in their courses each quarter. In addition, faculty will be able to use Accommodate to view accommodation letters, and submit testing materials starting September 26th.
